About Us

The church as a people

The congregation are mainly from the parish itself and have a good mix of age ranges.

Services with a vicar in charge normally consist of Thursday and Sunday communion services with Morning Prayer open to anyone. During major festivals these increase to cover Passiontide and Easter celebrations and Advent and Christmas services, such as Christingle, Nine Lessons, crib service and Midnight Mass.

We enjoy a wide range of music including traditional and songs of fellowship and are led by a singing group.

There is a children’s church on a Sunday run by gifted and dedicated people. Numbers can vary from three to nine depending on attendance of parents.

We are fortunate to have two flexible church buildings, both with chu##rch halls and gardens.

The future

We want to encourage every member of our church to develop their full spiritual potential, to recognise and use their gifts in the service of God.

We need to train and encourage more people to take up leadership positions.

We are keen to reach outside the church and serve our community.

We want to engage with the issues facing people and society locally, nationally and throughout the world.

St Philips was built in the 1930's after World War I so that the people on the new estate would have somewhere to worship. The design of the building won an architectural award - it looks like an upturned boat from inside!  St Philips Church can accommodate  350+ people.Find out more about the history of both church buildings on the history page.

Information and photos of the 'old' All Saints and of St Philips Church can be found on the Leodis  webstite (see below). You also might want to take a look at 'history' page.

Jesus said 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart...and love your neighbour as yourself'.  Both our churches have a committment to serving their community in a variety of ways, according to local need. the points of contact for our churched are:
